Bengaluru: By paying attention to the Civic poll of less than six months, the Karnataka government has set a deadline of October 30 for Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanaagara Palike (BBMP) to fill all holes in the city.
Revenue Minister R Ashoka on Thursday said work orders had been issued for two companies to fill the hole.
The deadline for coming in the background increases public anger on road conditions and increasing accidents due to holes.
The crater at 246km, the ministerial city road said the hole in the main streets would be filled in the first 10 days of the present, sub-arterial roads in 10 days and bylanes and the way forward on October 30.
Ashoka said the bigger BBMP problem for BBMP procurement and cyclone-induced rain in the city.
BBMP has bought 585 char supply without interruption for Bengaluru roads.
From 13,074 km of roads in the city, BBMP has a hole much further at 246km.
Ashoka said RS 1,000 Crore has been released to BBMP to take a road restoration project on the outskirts of the city that has seen 2,500 km of damaged roads because of work placed for drinking water and underground drainage for 110 villages brought under BBMP in 2006.
He said Each of the 198 wards was allocated Rs 20 Lakh for the exercise filling the hole.
Ashoka and officials toured the city to take stock of road conditions.
The minister recognizes poor road conditions has raised an accident and resulted in a return trip for motorists.
