Mangaluru: Harekala Hajabba received the Padma Shri 2020 award from President RAM Nath Kovind in New Delhi on Monday.
Hajabba, orange seller who saved money to build a school in his village, was declared a recipient of one of India’s highest civilian awards on January 25, 2020.

A man of simplicity, Hajabba walked towards Dais to receive footwear award.
“My humble request to the government that a PU college was subject to sanctions to my village Haraekala.
Prepare PU College for the village of Harekala is my dream now,” he added.
