Bengaluru: After the controversial Mekedatu inatra, which is said to provide an attraction that is needed for the Party in the old territory of MySuru, Congress is planning Yatras in the Kalyana Karnataka area and Kitur Karnataka.
Towards the election of assembly of 2023, party officials said they would arrange Kalyana Karnataka Kranti Rath Yatra which included all seven districts – Bidar, Kalaburagi, Yadgir, Raichur, Koppal, Ballari and Vijayanagara.
Atiyatra Mahadayi will be taken in Bellagavi, Bagalkot, Dharwad and Gadag District.
While Kranti Rath Yatra will seek the exact implementation of Article 371 (J), which provides special status to the KK region, inyatra will urge the government to implement the Kalasa-Banduri project which imagines drinking water to the dry Kittle District of Karnataka.
Before this, the party would continue the Mekedatu inyatra from Ramanagara where he was suspended on January 13 for surging cases of Covid and litigation of public interest submitted in the High Court.
When inyatra covered about 70 km for five days of Mekedatu to Kanakapura, the party will restart immediately after the third wave receded and covered 100 km again to reach Bengaluru where the parade will lead to a public meeting.
“The plan is being carried out to take three yatras and we are only waiting for an increase in Covid situations.
We will first finish Mekedatu inyatra and then launch the other two,” said the worker President KPCC Saleem Ahmed.
Congress began his protest program that was released from the announcement of the Minister of Basavaraj Basavai that he would call the meeting of all parties about the problem of water, attending the review he swore on Saturday.
“Congress only tries to play politics; not interested in getting justice for people.
In fact, Mekedatu Diyatra has worsened the situation because it encourages Tamil Nadu to announce the Hogenakkal phase-2 project proposal,” said Minister of Water Resources Govind Karjol.
The Supreme Court has delayed the hearing of the petition submitted by the Tamil Nadu project from Mekedatu from Tuesday (January 25) until February 16.
Karnataka on Monday asked SC to rearrange the Sungai Krishna water trial because two judges have received themselves and the earliest list of Mahayayi cases.
“The government takes all these steps only after we begin agitation.
So, programs such as the inyatras that we have planned are needed,” said the former Minister of Water Resources and Congress Mla MB Patil.
Congress MLA Priyank Kharge said Kalyana Kharge Kranti Yatra aims to suppress the Kalyana Government of Karnataka Regional Development Board (KKRDB), which was based on Article 371 (J) to ensure special provisions for regional development, even when the government was appointed to the member nomination for it.
“CM has promised in the Assembly on September 23 last year that members of the KKRDB will be appointed in 10 days, but he failed to defend His Word.
The fight against this indifference,” Kharge said.
