Bengaluru: Six men, including two fake police officers, recently arrested for allegedly robbing a 26-year-old job seeker, when he met one of them with Rs 10 Lakh in cash.
The defendant was HV Ajay Kumar aka Mohan, 41, from Avalahalli; Jnanamurthy R, 42, from my referral; BK Ravichandra, 36, from Harohalli near Anugondanahalli; Murugesh S, 27, from Bairasandra near Malur; Muniraju G, 33, from Kudiyanur and Kumaraswamy R, 38, Agrahara near Yelakeka.
Police Hoskote has registered a case of cheating, robbery, and criminal conspiracy against the gang based on complaints submitted by the victim, Gopala Mallappa Kamale, 26, the villagers of Nivaragi in the Vijayapura district on October 10.
Kambale told the police that he met the police defendant’s main Shivakumar four years ago in Goa and they exchanged telephone numbers.
Shivakumar recently convinced Kamale that he would get government work if the latter set Rs 10 lakh.
Kamale arranged cash and came to Hoskote with his friend Mahesh on October 8, to give money to Shivakumar.
“I came to Hoskote and called Shivakumar.
He asked me to meet his friend Mohan, who could take me to the office in question.
Mohan sent us a car, who picked us up from the Hoskote Government Hospital, where I was told to wait.
Two people wear hats and holding Lathis and Walkie-Talkie intercepted our car and rose.
The driver told me that they were police.
In a few minutes, the duo seized my bag containing cash and dumped us near Cross Devanagundi before speeding up, “Kamalae’s alleged.
Police Inspector Hoskote SR Manjunath and his team launched the probe and traced Mohan and his gang members.
The police arrested six criminals and recovered Rs 7 lakh, two cars, walkie-talkies, caps, lathis, and six cellphones from them.

With this arrest, the police also solved the cheating case registered with Sarjapur against the same gang in October 5.
The gang lured the population of Mysuru Naveen, a broker, with the pretext of selling it at a lower price in the Sarjapur area.
