Bengaluru: Immediately, you might be able to see the environmental map and timing bus feeder at the metro station in the city.
Acting Director BMRCL Anjum Parwez said Namma Metro plans to install environmental maps at all stations.
“The map will have details such as history, cultural interests and a structure of the inheritance and certain areas of the environment, which will help passengers, especially tourists, know more about the area,” he said.
He added that the room would also be given to BMTC at the station to install the screen board with an estimated arrival time of the feeder bus.
“We also consider showing static information with timing buses until the display board is ready,” Parwez said.
MD also said BMRCL worked with BMTC to increase the frequency of feeder services.
“We have been tied with taxi services starting by EX-SERVICEMEN to provide last-miles connectivity.
Metroride, electric and yulu autorickshaw company, a two-wheeled application-based rental company, also functions at the metro station.
We will welcome more companies like that , “he said.
In connectivity between capital Parwez said the steps had been taken to improve inter-capital connectivity.
“We provide footbridges from the metro station to the nearest bus and train station to ensure smooth connectivity,” he said.
AV SURYA SEN, Director of BMTC (Information Technology), said they would get 500 passengers information system information (PIS) under the NIRBHAY fund in February.
“But this board is more suitable for terminus buses and not for the metro station.
We face a financial crisis, so we are not in a position to buy a suitable board for the metro station.
If BMRCL or Dult can provide funds, we are ready to do it,” he said.
Many regular passengers welcome to move.
“We recommend that you show the map and timing of the bus at the metro station.
This will help passengers plan their trips and also know more about their environment,” said Anita S, a commuter.
Meanwhile, BMTC plans to install PI boards on Bus Shelters are awaiting BBMP approval.
“We need to draw strength from the bus shelter to install the PI board, but BBMP has not responded,” said an BMTC official.
However, BBMP officials said the shelter built under the public-private partnership model requires permission from personal advertisers for the installation of PI boards.
