Even before a minimalist keyword in Indian mode, David Abraham’s designer duo and Rakesh Thakore showed a fan of fashion back home that there were more than just sequins and bling.
They have redefined how we feel India’s fashion.
Duo established their label in 1992 and showed off their first collection in Indian ramp in 2010.
They reap traditional Sari and every other designer followed.
Their third silent partner Kevin Nigli also has a leading role to play in building A & T brands.
In special for Times of India, leading Indian designers share their favorite designs for years, the collections are closest to their hearts and what inspires them every day.
This week’s designer in the focus is David Abraham and Rakesh Thakore, who shared some of their favorite work in more than 25 years of famous travel.

In 2010, Abraham and Thakore made their catwalk debut in India.
This is their first fashion show in India by A & T.
Collections using iconic daily motives such as autorickshaw, umbrella, chappal, parrot – as an inspiration for Indian ethos.

They are one of the first Indian designers invited to show their ready-to-use collection to foreign clients.
In 1995, their first fashion collection was in Browns (from South Molton agents), London who also later became their representative for several years.
Collections are sold to some of the best boutiques such as Selfridges, 10 Corso Como, etc.
