Bengaluru: The Metro Part Metro Mysuru Road is delayed for a long time, which should be ready in December 2018, will be inaugurated on August 29.
All trains will run until the cengeri from byappanahalli (on the purple line) only during rush hour, which is 8:00 to 11:00 to 19:00 to 19:30.
However, alternative trains will be operated until cengeri during non-peak hours.
Other trains will run between Byappanahalli and MySore Road.
Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs HardeeP Singh Puri will inaugurate the extension of the purple line in front of the Minister of Chief Justice Bommai during the daytime next week.
BMRCL Managing Director Anjum Parwez said: “The inauguration will be held at Nayandahalli Station and commercial operations will begin on August 30 (Monday).” Asked whether alternative operations that operate into cengeri during non-peak hours can cause crowding during a pandemic, Parwez said: “Operating a train train until the cuehouse during non-peak hours is not feasible.
This is a temporary setting.
If demand increases, We will operate the train until the cengeri even during non-peak hours.
“After Metro Kengeri was assigned, the total network of Namma Metro would stretch up to 55 km, the third longest operational network after Delhi and Hyderabad.
This includes a 30km green line (Institute of Nagasandra-Silk) and 25km Purple Line (Byappanahalli-Kengeri).
This will be the second phase 2 corridor which will open after the Yelachenahalli-Silk Institute on Kanakapura road.
BMRCL has operated the train between the Silk Institute and Nagasandra even during non-peak hours.
On August 11 and 12, Commissioner for Metro Railway Safety (CMRS) checked the 2 Reach extension path (7.4km) from Metro Station Mysuru Road to Kengeri Station and provided authorization to open this passenger line.
CMR has set 42 conditions for BMRCL to comply before starting commercial operations.
The Northwest extension of the Purple Metro Namma line is expected to benefit 75,000 passengers every day.
The elevated part of the cengeri will have seven stations – Nayandahalli, Rajarajeshwari Nagar, Jnanabharathi, Pattanagere, Kengeri bus terminal, Kengeri and Challaghatta.
However, the Challaghatta station, which is located across a good road, is likely to operate only in 2023.
BMTC to operate the feeder of the BusesBMTC official said they are now mapping the Metro feeder bus from the station such as cengeri.
“We plan to operate a bus to places like Challaghatta, Bidadi, Nadaprabhu Kempegowda layout and Wiswesharaiah layout.
The route will be completed in one or two days” said a senior BMTC official.
