Silchar: The number of recommendations made by experts from various fields in the past three days of the Northeast Green Summit held here will be concluded and submitted to the Government of Assam for follow-up action, Director Nit Silchar Bandyopadhyay Sivaji.
The summit which ended on Thursday night adopted several recommendations to utilize the economic potential of eco services, biodiversity and wildlife conservation in the northeastern region and use sustainable technology in the post-covid world.
“Recommendations also emphasize the need for appropriate policies to improve green spaces in urban areas and to examine wildlife trade,” Bandyopadhyay said, while overcoming a meeting on the CONCLUSIONS CONCLUSION.
These recommendations also call for people to involve the youth as stakeholders in the protection of biodiversity so that their future is secured, he added.
Silchar MP and NE Green Summit Advisor, Rajdeep Roy, said, “We have decided to propose to the Government of Assam to declare the Sonai and Dholy regions in Cachar District, which includes 320 km inhabited by many rare reptiles, birds and baboons, as Place Sanctuary Bhubon Barak.
“One of the sessions underlined the need for a sustainable technology solution to decompose other masks and accessories used during the Covid-19 pandemic, while others refer to the” lack of political will “to save the environment firmly.
The State Union Minister for the Environment, Forest and Climate Change Ashwini Kumar Choubey, who is the main guest on the closing day of the Summit, warned that it would not disturb nature.
The program in Nit Silchar was followed by a cultural event at Don Bosco School Silchar.
The event starts with lighting lamps and a welcome dance by school students.
