Kalaburagi: With the intention to change prison inmates, a FM station will be opened in Kalaburagi Central Prison.
The station, which is arranged following the direction by DGP Praveen Sood, can start functioning in two weeks.
Other stations functioned in Bengaluru and Mysuru prison, with prisoners who provide programs.
Those who are educated and have speech skills and good songs provide programs every day.
Some of them have also been given training on radio Jocleing in Bengaluru and Prison Mysuru.
Minister of Araga Jnenandra, after seeing the active FM station in Bengaluru prison, ordered similar stations too.
“However, it was delayed in Kalaburagi prison because of Covid-19,” said the prison supervisor’s head, P S Ramesh.
“Six prisoners of Kalaburagi Prison have been selected for training a week in RJING, which will begin next week.
The necessary equipment has been arranged in a room in the main building,” he added, adding RJ prison to sing, tell the story, giving comedy shows, and adapted to play To entertain inmates.
Experts from various fields will also provide special lectures.
The program can only be heard in the middle prison – speakers have been installed in all rooms, including cells for women.
There are 1,030 inmates in prison.
