Chandigarh: When the sugar cane shredder will kickstart from November 15, sugar cane farmers in Punjab are still waiting for the release of payment more than RS 53 Crore from a private sugar factory, where RS 43 Crore is related to the 2019-20 destructive season.
Wahid Sandhar Sugars Limited in Phagwara in the district of Kapurthala must pay Rs 43.01 Crore for the decorative season of 2019-20 and Rs 7 Crore for 2020-21 of the total extraordinary payment.
Among the total seven personal sugar factories operating in Punjab, Bhagwanpura Sugar Mills in Dhuri in Sangrur District is another factory with a large payment of almost Rs 2.56 Crore for 2020-21.
Private Sugar Factories must pay RS1.880 Crore to Planting sugar cane for 2020-21, where RS 10.72 Crore is still extraordinary.
“We are pursuing a recovery process under the recovery law and deputy commissioner of the Kapurthala has also attached the director of the Director of the Sugar Factory Phagwara to restore the number,” the commissioner of Punjab Cane Dr.

The rest of the personal sugar factory is in the process of releasing payments, he added.
Apart from seven private sugar factories, there are nine cooperative sugar factories in the state.
When the State Assembly selection is scheduled for early next year, this is for the first time in the last four years that the Congress government has cleared all extraordinary contributions from cooperative sugar mills until the beginning of the silver season.
Cooperative Sugar Factory has removed Payment of Rs 486 Crore for 2019-20 and RS 472 Crore for 2020-21.
