Chandigarh: UT government has recommended the name Vinay Pratap Singh, officer IAS Batch Haryana 2011 cadres posted as Deputy Commissioner of Panchkula, for the position of Deputy Commissioner Chandigarh, to the center.
Tenure DC Mandates Brar will end on October 30.
The source said the name was recommended after the agreement of the Governor of Punjab-cum-UT Administrator V P Singh Badnore.
Last month, the government Haryana had sent a panel of three IAS officers for the position of deputy commissioner, to the UT government.
The post was reserved for Haryana-Cadre IAS officers.
The panel consisted of Prabhjot Singh, Kader Batch Haryana 2010 was posted as a special secretary for Haryana, Ministry of Health, and Mission Director, National Health Mission, Haryana; Vinay Pratap Singh and Manggul Kumar, Batch IAS 2011 posted as Kurukshetra DC.
While Prabhjot Singh still has SANSA DC, VINAY Pratap Singh remains DC from Karnal and Gurugram, and Commissioner of Gurugram MC.
Likewise, Mulpuk Kumar remains DC Panchkula and Yamunanagar.
A senior UT official said the names were discussed by senior officials and were decided to recommend the name Vinay Pratap Singh to the center.
Thus, approval is taken from badnore and the panel sent.
The new Commissioner MC joined the following week to the new Municipal corporation commissioner, Anindita Mitra, 2007 batch officers from Punjab Cadre, will join the UT government next week.
The term commissioner MC is currently going to end at the end of this week.
The Punjab government has sent the name of the three officers to the post to UT.
Partners (2007 Batch IAS), Amit Kumar and Rajiv Prashar, both Batch 2008 IAS.
The state government has sent a panel of three months before the completion of the working period of the K K K Yadav, whose term also ended in May but was given an extent until August.
Recently, the Cabinet appointment committee to PM Narendra Modi has issued orders to appoint partners as Commissioner UT Municipal Corporation.
