Bengaluru: A 42-year-old man has filed a complaint against a man based on Kolkata for allegedly deceiving him with the pretext of booking singer Adnan Sami Khan for a musical event.
Siddaraju TR, residents of Blok 4 Jayanagar, told the police that he carried out the Raj event, an event management company.
He got a contract to arrange the performance of Sami’s music for the son’s wedding reception of the owner of a gold loan company.
The marriage will be held on the FROUNDS ribbonce.
Siddaraju discusses getting a Sami for a concert with his business partner, Varun, who asked Riib Roni, a Kolkata resident, to facilitate bookings.
Roni told Siddaraju will cost Rs 14.5 lakh to order Sami and demand Rs 3 Lakh as a down payment.
Siddaraju transferred Rs 2.4 lakh from the bank account of his client company on February 3 and each RS 50,000 from his wife and colleagues account.
On February 4, Roni demanded more Rs 4.5 lakh.
This time, Siddaraju asked Roni to show documents for ordering.
Roni was allegedly angry and cut off the call.
Siddaraju tried to contact Roni again and found the phone turned off.
He contacted Sami’s office and asked about Roni.
The office staff said they did not know anyone with that name and confirmed there was no order made by him.
Realizing he had been cheated, Siddaraju approached the police on February 8.
